Karabagh Gallery (CAUCASE-ARMENIA), mid-19th century - Lot 66
Karabagh Gallery (CAUCASE-ARMENIA), mid-19th century A blue oblong abrasive counter-field, with "hooks", hosts a polylobed main rose, fuchsia, sky and old gold, framed by four parrots. Two other star-shaped flowers interspersed with four polychrome pistachio cruciform cartouches complete the ensemble. The fuchsia field with seedlings of multicoloured flowers and pistachio compositions in the corners frames the whole. Two counter borders with garlands of flowers enclose the main one with a succession of polychrome crenellated floral medallions. Beautiful "Lampa" decoration typical of Armenian Karabagh carpets.
