SILVER CIGARETTE CASE THAT BELONGED TO KING GEORGES II OF GREECE (1890-1947). By KRIENIES, Moscow, 1895. Beautiful rectangular model, with chiselled decoration of fine horizontal flutes, hinged lid opening by a lateral catch, decorated in the centre with a cartouche of its monogram interlaced in Cyrillic characters "G.G.II": George II under royal crown, inside vermeil, with compartment for matches, tinder and scraper. Good condition. Title stamp: 84, Moscow, 1895. Goldsmith's mark : Jacob Krienies, active from 1882 to 1901. Height: 9 cm - Width: 5.5 cm - Depth: 1.5 cm. Gross weight: 234 g. Provenance: former collection of King George II of Greece, then preserved by descent.
