COVERED HARD CHINA VASE. - Lot 131
COVERED HARD CHINA VASE. Of ovoid shape, resting on a square base, decorated on each side with a view in grisaille representing the castle of Kokkedal in Denmark, framed in a gold cartouche, alternating with the monogram 'M.R.': (Margareth, René) under the royal crown and bearing the date 1921. The socket on the lid is decorated with two mythological bisque figures. Small accidents and lacks on the upper part, but good general condition. Manufacture Royal Copenhagen, early 20th century. H. : 26 cm - Diameter : 11 cm. Provenance: present offered on the occasion of the marriage of Princess Margareth of Denmark (1895-1992), with Prince René de Bourbon-Parme (1894-1962), celebrated in Copenhagen, June 9, 1921. Princess Margareth was the daughter of Prince Waldemar of Denmark (1858-1939) and Princess Marie d'Orléans (1865-1909).
