MOBILE CORNER intended for the manufacture of tokens with a cylindrical iron body showing the Abbey of Cîteaux in the centre, surrounded by its four daughter abbeys, La Ferté, Pontigny, Clairvaux and Morimond, the edge bears the following inscription LVDOVICVS. DE. BAISSEY. ABB. CISTER. 16th century, circa 1560/1564. Height : 7,3 cm - Diameter : 3,1 cm (slight oxidation, missing sleeping area) Louis de Baissey, abbot of Maizières, abbey daughter of La Ferté, was elected on 6 January 1560 49th abbot of Cîteaux. He attended the last session of the Council of Trent (1562- December 1563) and died on 19 June 1564 on his return to France. Sources : L.
