Paris, Imprimerie de Crapelet, Antoine-Augustin Renouard, 1819. 2 volumes in-8, blond half-basane with small corners, smooth decorated spine, red title and tomaison pieces, speckled green edges (Binding of the period). Coquelin & Guillaumin, t. I, p. 335. - Goldsmiths, n°22294. Original edition, decorated with 4 engraved folding paintings. Chaptal (1756-1832), a chemist who was Minister of the Interior under Napoleon, draws up here a vast assessment of the economic situation of France after the troubles of the Revolution and the Empire. Beautiful binding of the time, finely decorated. Some freckles and pricking, especially on the edges. Small epiderminations on the spine of volume I, minimal galleries on two jaws, green ink lines on the lower spines.
