Sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court, he preferred to commit suicide by stabbing himself. In his work, he reflects on a reform of the penal system and proposes a new systematic and reasoned classification of different crimes (political, civil, domestic, etc.). pp. 314-347 address the issue of the death penalty. A pamphlet bound copy, full margins and uncut. Light-coloured spotting on a few leaves, trace left by a peel-off label (bookstore butterfly?) on the title.
