This text had first appeared a few months before in the Éphémérides du citoyen, which explains the mention of second edition on the title page. Dupont de Nemours (1739-1817) pleads for the suppression of the Compagnie des Indes, whose privilege is a violation of the public property of all citizens, and demands the opening of the colonies to trade from all over the world. His work contributed to precipitate the fall of the Compagnie des Indes. Copy as published, stapled under waiting cover and partly uncut. Minimal stains on the title.
