Set of 13 single-volume fascicles in-8, half-basane marbled with small vellum corners, smooth spine, red title coin, red speckled edges (contemporary binding). Very rare complete collection of this revolutionary journal concerning agriculture and agricultural progress. The periodical appeared in 13 issues, from April 15, 1793 to 15 Germinal Year II (April 15, 1794), a period of only one year. It is illustrated with a frontispiece engraved on copper by Halbou after Le Barbier, a folding plate depicting fences, hedges and ditches, 4 intaglio vignettes illustrating the work in the fields, and a folding board for the new calendar of the second republican year. Among the various articles and observations it contains, the most interesting concern field work, potato cultivation, flax and hemp cultivation, fertilisers, artificial meadows, pruning of fruit trees and vines, beet, milk, wasps, rabies, merry-go-round and hand mills, the course of the harvest, anthrax (epizootic disease), etc. Reinforced title page margin. Legend of the table leaflet cut out. Title piece renewed. Hole and tiny worm gallery touching leaflets in the last issues. Heavily rubbed binding.
