The most beautiful of all, circa 1840-1850. Folded fan, the paper sheet lined with skin, and painted with gouache of the shepherd Pâris offering the golden apple to the most beautiful woman, Venus. In clouds, Athena and Juno witness this recognition. Reverse side decorated with flowers. White mother-of-pearl frame pierced, engraved and gilded, the cartels burgauté in the taste of the 18th century. H.t. 29 cm-H.F. 14.2 cm (wear, stains, restorations) Provenance: former collection of Michel Maignan.
