H. Poulin and F. Gardon, Natural butterflies by lepidochromy, ca. 1890-1900 Exceptional fan leaf in cream-coloured skin painted with colourful butterflies among orchids, including Venus hooves. Two butterflies are executed as real butterfly wings thanks to lepidochromy, a new technical process of the entomologist H. Poulin, which makes it possible to transfer butterfly wings onto different supports. Signed "F. Gardon" on the right and "H. Poulin" on the left. Poulin" on the lower right.
