Show - Erotica gay - Christian BENAIS - " Les Sans Gène avec - Lot 247
Show - Erotica gay - Christian BENAIS - " Les Sans Gène avec La Grande Eugène ", 1973, Ets Saint Martin, 56,7x38cm / 22,3x14,9in. Original RARE poster. Zincography. Cond A, perfect condition. "La Grande Eugène" is the stage name of Eugène Couvri who started his career as a transformer in the famous cabaret "Chez Michou". In April 1970 Frantz Salieri opened the cabaret "La Grande Eugène" on rue d'Argenteuil, in reference to Eugène Couvri who performed there. The following year the cabaret opened its doors at 12 rue de Marignan in Paris. Three transformers will surround him: Jérôme-Olivier Nicolin (Belle de Mai), José-Christian Niego (Josepha Badabou) and Jean-Claude Dreyfus (Emma von Scratch) who will play many female roles before starting a long acting career. La Grande Eugène's transformist show combines, in a superb staging, burlesque, poetry and eroticism, characteristic of the gay nightlife shows of the time. In 1973, Frantz Salieri sold the cabaret to Eugène Couvri, who made it into "Les Sans Gênes". Finally, at the beginning of 1975, Jean-Marie Rivière took over the establishment to make it "L'Ange Bleu". It was thus La Grande Eugène who was represented on our poster for a show in his own cabaret. An atypical subject with a confidential draw. Each poster will be put in a tube, or grouped in a tube with the other lots of the same buyer. RARE original poster. Zincography. Cond A, perfect condition.
