German school violin, 19th century. Handwritten inscription on the back, Jacobus Tainaire, anno 1755, as well as "repaired by Jauttrial Luthier" and a repair label CLAUDOT DIJON 1911. One piece maple back, 363 mm long, two pieces spruce top, 363 mm long, maple head and sides, red/brown opaque varnish. Numerous accidents. With case and a Bazin school bow.
