Gien, Late 19th century Monumental earthenware wall decoration representing a lakeside landscape featuring ducks in an aquatic vegetation of iris and water lilies, under a tree. The landscape is surrounded by a frieze with nuance of blue, alternating flowers and water lily leaves. Signed Gien in the lower left corner. The panel has been dismantled and is presented in 4 parts, the wooden frame in four parts, the wooden frame being separate, waiting to be reassembled. This panel was certainly ordered by one of the owners of beautiful villas at the end of the 19th century, who surrounded themselves with excellent artists to decorate their living environment. This panel can be compared to those made by Theodore Deck in the same period, for the bathroom of the Villa des Tilleuls in Guebwiller for example, and which also showed lake scenes with with such colors. H. 200 cm - W. 200 cm Slight accidents and missing parts
