Plain silver root box, Master goldsmith François-Nicolas Girard, Rennes 1775-1776 Of rectangular form, the borders with nets, posed on a frame, the sides with strong doucines, the lid with hinge, engraved in a threaded frame of the coats of arms under a crown of marquis, of François de Sales, knight of Langle, baron of Coëtuhan (1747-1789) and of Louise de Roscoat, married in 1776 Hallmark of the Master goldsmith François-Nicolas Girard, received in 1769; letter-date hallmark, crowned S, 1774-1776; charge mark, 1775-1781 Height : 6,5 cm - Length : 14 cm - Width : 7,5 cm - Weight : 326 g. Box of tomb form, in reminder of the Antiquity; the root boxes belonged to a toilet service like the powder boxes.
