Bisque clock - Lot 256
Bisque clock figuring a rock decorated with foliage topped by a basket of fruit and flowers against which leans on the one hand a Nymph in her toilet and on the other hand two small fauns. It rests on a rectangular base decorated with gilded bronze branches and doves beaking each other. Two medallions in Wedgewood-style bisque representing Athena and the Arts frame the main frieze. White enamelled ring dial signed ANGEVIN in Paris revealing the mechanism which indicates the hours, minutes and date. French work from the first third of the 19th century. Angevin active in Paris between 1806 and 1830. H. 50.5 cm - L. 41.5 cm - D. : 18 cm.
