Algerian pistol Wood, steel (system and barrel), silver and coral (decoration) Algeria, 19th century Length: 55 cm This typically Algerian pistol has a decoration of floral motifs inlaid with silver and coral on the stock and on the lower part of the barrel. The spherical end of the stock is covered with silver, and finished by a flower centered with a coral pearl. The system (flintlock) and the upper part of the barrel are made of steel, engraved with vegetal motifs. The lock is signed "REED", and the barrel is marked with a star followed by the number 386. It also has several crescent motifs engraved on the trigger guard. The end of the long barrel is covered with a silver plate with chased plant motifs.
