Joseph comte de PUISAYE (1755-1827) royalist general, leader of the Breton Chouannerie; he organized the landing of Quiberon. P.S. "Le Cte Joseph de Puisaye mal de camp," co-signed by 6 other officers of the "Armée Catholique et Royale de Bretagne," "en Conseil" on July 26, 1794 "l'an 2me du Rgne de Louis XVII"; 1 oblong page in-fol. with red wax seal (reinforcement of the edges and folds on the back). Commission of lieutenant colonel for knight Amador de BUSNEL(1771-1858). "On the account which was returned to us and according to the particular knowledge that we have of the services, fidelity and devotion to the cause of the Religion and the King, of Chr Amador Felix Annibal de Busnel; have by these present committed and ordered him to take the command of a corps of three hundred Chasseurs à pieds, which we judged useful to form for a particular service, with the rank of Lt Colonel. Let us order all officers of a lower rank and all King's soldiers to recognize the dt. Cher de Busnel and to obey him in this capacity under the good pleasure of Monsieur le Regent, and under the authority of the Lieutenant Generals and Commanders for the King: BERTHELOT fils "offer of the army of the Vendée and Morbihan", BOULAINVILLIER "Cher de St Louis et offer du Morbihan", the Chevalier de CHANTREAU "Chief of Division and officer of the Vendée", PERSCHAIS "captain", DDe BLONDEL "officer of the Vendée & Chief of Division in Brittany", and MAUDET captain. [All these officers, as well as Busnel, are among the signatories of the Proclamation of the Generals and Chiefs of the Catholic and Royal Army of Brittany to the French, dated the same July 26, 1794].
