Jean-Michel CHAMBON LA TOUR (1739-1815) conventionnel (Gard), Montagnard; sent on a mission in the Midi, he assisted Cadroy in his atrocities. Apostille signed at the bottom of a petition addressed by the citizens of Bouches-du-Rhône to the Citizens Representatives deputised by the Convention in this department, Marseille 27 germinal III (April 16, 1795); 3 pages in-fol. ink stamp (slight spotting). The petition, signed by about sixty persons (2 pages of signatures), asks for the rehabilitation of the unfortunate Goulard ex-brigadier of the national gendarmerie of Aubagne, victim of the Terror, who returns "provided with certificates of civism and residence, in the prime of life, full of courage and vigor, burning with love for the fatherland, of a high stature, of a happy face, privileged with all the qualities which seem to announce the terror of the villains and the friend of the law". Chambon refers to the commander of the gendarmerie of Marseille...
