Hubert LYAUTEY (1854-1934) marshal. Autograph manuscript, [1 - Lot 667
Hubert LYAUTEY (1854-1934) marshal. Autograph manuscript, [1903?]; 6 1/2 pages fol. An account of his appointment to command the subdivision of Aïn Sefra in 1903. [...] What is amusing is that my divisional general of maneuvers, Galerson [...] had told us how serious he found the situation and pitied both the one who could be in charge of settling it on the spot, as well as his immediate chief, the General of the Oran division, saying "I would not want to be in their place". However, I was the one who was in charge of settling the situation on the spot, and he was the one who was sent to the Commander of the Oran division two months later"...
