Albert HUYOT (1872-1968) painter. L.A.S., July 28, 1940, to a friend; 12 pages in-8. And 7 L.A.S to him, most of them with envelopes. Very long letter about the events of June and July 1940. He worked until June 9 in Osny, and describes the landscape he was painting in his orchard. Then came the bombings, which forced him to go, not without difficulty, to Paris, from where he witnessed the departure on Avenue d'Orléans for the exodus, and found himself in a deserted city, in the company of Le Fauconnier... Etc. André JOLIVET (31.X.1938, he is delighted to see his paintings at the Salon). Henri LE FAUCONNIER (3, 1936-1937, on the Corot exhibition, and the gallery that Mrs. Marcel Lenoir will open). Georges ROUAULT (17.3.1921, condolences; "Lehmann told me that you had made very definite progress"). Henry de WAROQUIER (2, 1938-1940, about exhibitions; plus a visiting card).
