Guy TARGET (1733-1806) lawyer, deputy to the States General, father of the Constitution of 1791, he refused to defend Louis XVI. L.A.S., November 25, 1776, to the Duchess of LORGES; 1 page small in-4. His health allows him "hardly to satisfy the old commitments I have made for the pleading", and he cannot make new ones.
