[...] If, against my opinion, one were to pronounce death judicially, or either by form of judgment or by form of general security, I would be of the opinion of the sanction of the people, by thousand political considerations. But if one were to stick to a simple revolutionary banishment pronounced, I would not be in favor of this sanction, but of prompt execution. And to arms! - 90 hours of session since Monday preceded by the greatest assiduity during 15 other days"...
