Louis-Marie de Salgues, marquis de LESCURE (1766-1793) officer, general of the Vendée army, died of wounds received at the battle of La Tremblaye, nicknamed "the Saint of Poitou". P.S., March 15, 1793, and 3 P.S. concerning him, 1792-1795; half page in-4 (tear removing the name of the place, repair), and 4 pages various sizes. Extremely rare document, one of the only known signatures of Lescure. He acknowledges that Pierre Bandineau has given him an account "of the management he made of my cabin of Grand Puyguion for the year one thousand seven hundred and ninety-two of which he gave me the receipts and the net product"... Boismé January 6, 1792. P.S. by the members of the municipality of Boismé, district of Chatillon (Deux-Sèvres). They certify that Louis-Marie de Lescure "has been resident on the land of Clisson parish of Boismé" for more than a year, and that he has paid jointly, with his grandmother, the first two terms of their patriotic contributions of the years 1790 and 1791 (1 page and a half in-4 with tax stamp and red wax seal). In view of a certificate stating that Louis-Marie de Lescure, "captain reformed in the 14th regiment, ordinarily living in Clisson", arrived in Paris on February 11 and has been residing since that time in the Louvre at Mme de Lorge's, they reinstate him in the enjoyment of his goods which had been sequestered by virtue of the law of April 8, 1792 (1 p. ½ in-fol., headed). Niort 14 pluviôse III (February 2, 1795). P.S. by Vaudé, president, and Lelong, secretary, administrators of the department of Deux-Sèvres. State of the creditors of Lescure, "Emigré, included in the General List" of the district of Bressuire; the total of the claims is 72,592 francs 63 centimes (1 p. large folio, printed letterhead).
