Louis THIROUX DE CROSNE (1736-1794) last lieutenant general of police, he was guillotined. 2 L.S., Paris July 29, 1788, to the Governor of the Bastille, Bernard de LAUNEY; 1 page in-4 each. Instructions about the Bretons held in the Bastille. - According to the observation [...] that several of the Breton gentlemen detained in the Bastille do not dine together, and that it would be more pleasant for all to dine together than to dine there, I will take it upon myself to change the orders that were given and I beg you consequently to kindly make them dine together in the number of three"... - The King consents, in relation to Mr. Tremergat's health, to allow Mme de Tremergat and Mme de Goyon to visit him in the Bastille.
