Important and magnificent carpet TABRIZ (Persia), end of the 19th century Dimensions : 510 x 375cm. Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on a cotton foundation. A marine field with "a thousand flowers" and weeping willows, supports a cherry counter field, oblong and poly-lobed, with a sowing of flowers, compartmentalized by ivory ribbons, with angular forms or arabesques, where deer are frolicking. In the center sits a marine medallion, multi-lobed, with plant decoration and heart with cruciform ivory, sky and brick rosette. Two old gold borders with garlands of flowers frame the main one, marine, with a succession of multicolored corollas on ivory scrolls. Very beautiful palette of colors.
