Arthur, comte de DILLON (1750-guillotiné 1794) generalof the Revolution, he had fought in the American War; he was governor of Tobago, and deputy of Martinique to the Estates-General. L.A.S., Paris November 7, 1792; ¾ page in-fol. On his accusation of connivance with the enemy(for havingwritten to the Landgrave of Hesse; he will be suspended from office). "The Lt General asks 1° that the executive council deigns to let him know its decision according to the account that he has rendered to it 2° that in the case that it was not favorable to him he communicates to him the denunciations which exist against him"... One P.S. "Danton" (scratch) is joined, October 11, 1792 (half page in-fol., heading Decree of the National Convention): "the provisional Executive Council will give an account [...] of the information which was addressed to him relating to the conduct of General Dillon towards the Landgrave of Hesse-Cassel".
