In-4, marbled calf, triple gilt fillet, coat of arms in the center, modern red morocco with the title pasted on the foot of the first plate, spine decorated, red title, red edges (Binding of the period). First edition of the French translation, translated from English, of this work on the history of the voyages of discovery undertaken by the Russians in the North Pacific since 1745. It also contains the history of the conquest of Siberia and the state of trade relations between Russia and relations between Russia and China at that time: trade in furs, fabrics, teas, porcelain, etc. It is decorated with 4 folding maps and a folding view of the city of Maimatschin, located south of Lake Baikal near the Chinese border (today Altan-Bulak in Mongolia). A PRECIOUS COPY WITH THE ARMS OF LOUIS XVI. Stamps cut on the false title and the title (filled in). Marginal foxing on the title and last leaf, due to the return of the skin on the back covers. Restorations to the binding (hinges, caps and corners).
