PECQUEUR (Constantin). New theory of social and political ec - Lot 357
PECQUEUR (Constantin). New theory of social and political economy, or Studies on the organization of societies. Paris, Capelle, 1842. In-8, blue half-basin, smooth spine decorated with gilded fillets, speckled edges (Binding of the time). Coquelin & Guillaumin, t. II, p. 351. - Einaudi, n°4349. First edition. [...] the third work, and by far the most important, according to us, that Pecqueur wrote [...]. This work is interesting in many ways. It takes up most of Pecqueur's ideas developed in the preceding works; it sheds new light on them; finally and above all, it contains all the collectivist socialism elaborated by our author, which has earned Pecqueur the title of father of state collectivism. In this last work, the author develops a whole system of social organization which, according to him, is likely to bring true happiness to all peoples (Zouaoui, Socialisme et internationalisme. Constantin Pecqueur, Droz, 1964, p. 16). The work of this former Fourierist, considered as a precursor text of the communist doctrines, was read and quoted by Karl Marx in his Capital. On the title: wet stamp in blue ink Property of the newspaper Le Censeur, and wet stamp of the library of the Catholic faculties of Lyon. Minor tear without missing at the corner of pp. 805-806. Covers rubbed with small tear at the head.
