LALLY-TOLENDAL (T. G. de). Plaidoyer pour Louis XVI. London, Paris, chez les marchands de Nouveautés, 1793. In-8, green half-basane, orange fillets and title page, CH number on tail (Binding of the period). A copy by Charles-Julien de Chênedollé (1769-1833), a poet at the dawn of Romanticism, who became a friend of Chateaubriand in Madame de Staël's circle in Coppet. The binding bears his initials CH on the spine. On one endpaper, in his handwriting, is a list of works favorable to the king.
