LABOR MOVEMENT. - LÉVY (Armand). Mémoire pour les ouvriers t - Lot 302
LABOR MOVEMENT. - LÉVY (Armand). Mémoire pour les ouvriers typographes. - Trial of the typographers. Appendix: the typographic question. - Les Ouvriers typographes en appel. 2nd brief. Consultations of Mr. Odilon Barrot, Mr. Marie and Mr. Crémieux. Pleadings by M. Armand Lévy and Me Th. Bac. Indictment and judgment. Paris, Poulet-Malasssis, 1862. Set of 3 works in one volume, in-4, green half-chagrin, smooth spine decorated (Period binding). Collection of 3 pieces concerning the trial of the typographers of the Imprimerie Dupont in Paris, accused in 1862 of coalition and of having gone on strike for the revision of their rates and against the use of female labor in the workshops. Armand Lévy (1827-1891), journalist and Freemason, defended these workers. Interesting case on the question of women's work in the printing industry and for the social history of the Second Empire. Binding very rubbed.
