First edition.
One of 20 copies on Hollande paper.
Enriched with a hundred engraved portraits from the 18th and 19th centuries, to which 2 letters have been added:
- an autograph letter from the author to his publisher Poulet-Malassis (one page in-8 on blue paper) concerning his unfortunate preface, which he has just removed.
- a letter from Cuvillier Fleury (1802-1887), member of the Académie française and tutor to the Duc d'Aumale, addressed to Monselet.
In addition, a triplet by Asselineau on the pornographer Monselet and a note on the edition have been mounted on a flyleaf.
