MONSELET (Charles). Les Oubliés et les dédaignés. Literary figures of the late 18th century. Alençon, Poulet-Malassis et De Broise, 1857. 2 volumes in-12, green half-maroquin with corners, spine decorated, gilt head, untrimmed (Period binding). First edition. One of 20 copies on Hollande paper. Enriched with a hundred engraved portraits from the 18th and 19th centuries, to which 2 letters have been added: - an autograph letter from the author to his publisher Poulet-Malassis (one page in-8 on blue paper) concerning his unfortunate preface, which he has just removed. - a letter from Cuvillier Fleury (1802-1887), member of the Académie française and tutor to the Duc d'Aumale, addressed to Monselet. In addition, a triplet by Asselineau on the pornographer Monselet and a note on the edition have been mounted on a flyleaf. From the H. Vigneron library (bookplate).
