Large in-8, fawn half-chagrin with small corners, spine decorated (Binding of the period). First edition. Adolphe Quetelet (1796-1874) pioneered the application of probability calculus to the study of man. The first part of his work deals with the application of probability theory to the moral and political sciences, while the second studies the laws concerning the development of man and the social body. Rubbing to binding, spine faded.
