Rectangular wooden mailbox, the lid carved in reserve with foliate scrolls surrounding an oval gilded metal medallion engraved with the coats of arms of Belgian cities including Liège, Luxembourg, Namur, Hainaut and West Flanders. Signed J. DENGIS. Inside, four compartments, including three small sloping ones designed to hold trimbers. The box is dated 1914 on the bottom. Belgium - Poilus work H. 4.7 - W. 20.3 - D. 11.7 cm Damage to the lid and missing hinge.
