JANNIOT Alfred Auguste, after, by the workshop of Innocenzo - Lot 117
JANNIOT Alfred Auguste, after, by the workshop of Innocenzo Italo Antonio SANTELLI (1889-1963) Tête de la Sicilienne or Ideal Head, circa 1924 plaster with white patina on silver patina, unsigned Height: 39 cm The work was conceived at the end of Janniot's stay at the Villa Medici and was exhibited in 1925 in the Hôtel du Collectionneur in the grand Salon de réception. La Tête idéale blends antique classicism with Roaring Twenties modernity, a perfect aesthetic combination that has made this sculpture an emblematic work by Janniot.
