Silver-plated metal legume dish richly decorated with a frieze composed of a herd of oxen, the handles formed by two pairs of harnessed oxen, the fretel formed by a cowherd seated on a sheaf of wheat. It stands on a quadripod base of acanthus leaves terminating in ox feet.
The lid is engraved "Ministère de l'agriculture - Concours international d'animaux reproducteurs 1900" - "2ème division espèce bovine - grand prix d'honneur".
Signed in full on the body Christofle & Cie, Christofle and hallmarked under the piece.
