Set of 4 quires in an in-4 volume, contemporary marbled basane. This is the first volume of this important scientific publication, which includes course reports and a number of original memoirs. Contributors to the journal include Prony, Monge, Fourcroy, Chaptal, Berthollet, Guyton, Lagrange, Laplace and others. 4000 copies of this bulletin were printed and distributed to members of the Convention, students, teachers and other agents of the École, engineers and other such employees (cf. Fourcy, Histoire de l'École polytechnique, pp. 80-81). These first four quires contain a total of 6 tables and 14 fold-out plates. École polytechnique stamp and seal on titles. Covers damaged, some light foxing.
