Chinese taste, France, circa 1730 A large folded fan, the double sheet of paper engraved and enhanced in color with scenes of scrolls and shells, with Chinese musicians at the edges. In the center, and on the sides, gallant scenes of couples playing music or declaring their love. Reverse: a woman disguised as a sultana and her servant play music in a country setting with rockeries and palm trees. Handwritten inscription in ink on the reverse: "Docteur Liogey". Wooden frame, decorated with painted and varnished flowers. H.t. 37.7 cm-H.f.18.5 cm (wear)
