The Rights of Man, France, circa 1789 Large folded fan, revolutionary, the double sheet of paper engraved and enhanced in color. Peasants, soldiers and revolutionaries celebrate the Declaration of the Rights of Man, whose tables are presented by a female figure, Liberty, holding a Phrygian cap. On the sides, four verses including "Conspire for the loss of kings/ Liberté Liberté que tout mortel te rende hommage". Green paper reverse. Wooden mounting. H.t. 41 cm-H.f. 20.8 cm (accidents, missing parts)
