CONSULAT - Lot 52
CONSULAT Bronze table medal by ap. Petit. Obverse: bust in straight profile in consul's uniform, hair tied with a ribbon. Caption: BONAPARTE / PREMIER CONSUL. Reverse: Victory, standing front-on, head to the left, holds a sword on the dexter and a palm on the sinister. Next to her on the right is the allegory of Liberty, seated on the left on a drapery concealing a heap of weapons: breastplate, cannon, helmet with caterpillar and plume, flags bearing a double-headed eagle, the imperial eagle and the Turkish crescent; she is pensive, supporting her head with her hand. In the left background, clouds. Below in exergue on three lines: AVENEMENT AU CONSULAT / XVIII BRUMAIRE AN VIII / DE LA REP.E FRANC.SE. Sb. PETIT INV. ET F. Diameter: 51 mm
