Nov. 4, 05 / The only interest of this documentary sketch is to give, having been taken from life, a fairly accurate, if very sketchy, view of the imposing aspect of the Queen of the Far East, whom I have nicknamed Victoria the Superb... my book / By gluing this very thin paper in full on a piece of cardboard, the folds will disappear. / Please accept it for the gracious dispatch of your excellent brochure on Honk Kong. / By the same token, I acknowledge receipt of the sum of one hundred francs for your life membership of the Société Franco Japonaise de Paris. / I enclose the invitation to next Thursday's luncheon, where I hope to have the pleasure of meeting you. / All you need now is Africa (?)... / In all sympathy. / Regamey
