FRENCH SCHOOL First Third of the 19th century Presumed portrait of Jean-Baptiste Oustalet (1772-1840) slightly three-quarter-length, curly chestnut hair in a blue frock coat on a gray-blue background. Round miniature. Gilded and chased metal border. Diameter: 6 cm Square frame in black wood with fine stripes (10.6 x 10.6 cm) On the reverse, a handwritten label: Louis Dustalet. Doctor in Napoleon's armies, married a Meiner and settled in Montbéliard. Jean-Baptiste Oustalet (1772-1840), physician, health officer, surgeon at the civil hospice and town councillor in Montbéliard. He married François Louise Frédérique Meiner (1781-1848). This union produced Louise Caroline Oustalet, who married Georges Frédéric Duvernoy (1796-1839).
