Chased gilt bronze clock decorated with garlands of laurels, - Lot 217
Chased gilt bronze clock decorated with garlands of laurels, acanthus leaves and a Lion's head. The scrolled sides rest on a base and tapered legs with square bases. The white enameled dial features blue Roman numerals for the hours, Arabic numerals for the minutes and chemin de fer, and is topped by a cassolette. Dial signed GAUDRY Orléans (accidents and missing parts). Numbered movement with pendulum, count wheel, hybrid suspension (silk/blade). Late 18th/early 19th century Height: 52 cm; Depth: 18 cm; Width: 35 cm Missing glass, scratches, oxidation.
