BURMAND Eugene, after - Lot 59
BURMAND Eugene, after Indian Muslim Soldier Lithograph in colors, signed in the plate to the left 22 x 17 cm NB: This color lithograph is taken from the "Allies in the War of Nations" album. Starting in 1917, the painter undertook a series of portraits of servicemen returning from the front. They show the diversity of the peoples involved in the Confilt on France's side. On his death, his heirs published a book reproducing these 100 portraits, with a preface by Marshal Foch.
