UBAC Raoul, 1910-1985 Blind Beauty, 1946 mixed technique on paper (insolation and small tear) monogrammed and dated lower right, with an indication on the back of the mount referring to a poem by Raoul Ubac entitled La Beauté Aveugle (Blind Beauty) published in 3è Convoi (n°3 p. 39): " ... No more bodies, no more flesh in these bloodless carcasses; in these floating sets... The stage is empty of actors, but the play is not yet fully performed. Curtain Curtain Remove the sets, turn off the lights, we'll play on an empty stage." 27.5 x 19 cm
