DAVID Jacques-Louis (Paris 1748- Brussels 1825) Saint Jerome Black stone (some freckling), Annotated in the lower part probably in the hand of David augustin Carache alla certosa ; Initialed in pen and brown ink by David's two sons, Eugène (Lugt. 839) and Jules (Lugt. 1437). Reverse: inventory number in black stone 2552 H. 12.5 - L. 10.1cm Study after The Last Communion of Saint Jerome by Agostino Carracci (1557 - 1602), formerly in San Gerolamo Certosa and now in the Pinacoteca of Bologna (Cf. Andrea Emiliani, La Pinacoteca Nazionale di Bologna, n° 190, pp. 292 & 293 - Bologna 1967).
