ROL (René OLICHON dit, 1912 - 1961) &FAIENCERIE HB - QUIMPER Ceramic vase with spherical body and upper part hollowed out by two parallel bands. Slightly engraved geometric design enhanced by patinated brown enamels on a royal blue background (bumps in the design). Signed on the reverse and marked 668-1362. Height: 24.5 cm History: ROL is the pseudonym of artist René Olichon. Trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Nantes, he settled in Quimper before the Second World War and created a series of vases for the HB factory, with stylized decorations and shapes in the 1925 style.
