Chadenat, n°272. - Sabin, n°12129. - Leclerc, n°317. First edition, with 3 fine intaglio vignettes at the head and 7 fold-out maps and plates, including a map of Paraguay. ESTIMATED AND RESEARCHED WORK, THE MOST COMPLETE ON PARAGUAY, written by Father Charlevoix based on authentic accounts by Jesuit missionaries. At the end of each volume are supporting documents for the history of Paraguay. A fine copy, in a perfect pastiche binding. Double library stamps on titles. Some light foxing, stain in the lower part of the plan opposite p. 268 of volume III.
