Dufriche de Valazé (1751-1793) was a deputy for Orne at the Convention. Sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court, he preferred to commit suicide by stabbing himself. In his work, he reflects on a reform of the penal system and proposes a new systematic and reasoned classification of different crimes (political, civil, domestic, etc.).
pp. 314-347 deal with the question of the death penalty.
Copy bound in pamphlet, with full margins and untrimmed.
