[HAY DU CHASTLET (Paul)]. Traitté de la politique de France. Par Monsieur P. H. marquis de C. Cologne, Pierre Marteau [Bruxelles, Foppens], 1669. In-12, granite calf, ornate spine, spotted edges (contemporary binding).
One of three forgeries of the original 1669 edition, this one described by Willems (no. 1602) as being published in Brussels.
The work is said to have earned the author a stay in the Bastille, and inspired Vauban to develop some of his ideas on taxation (cf. Spengler, p. 25, note 22).
